Delhi Daredevils are doing fantastically well in this edition of IPL.They have won eight matches out of total ten they played.It’s skipper Virender Sehwag is in sub lime form, he has already scored as many as Five half centuries on the trot and looking completely invincible, but with departure of Kevin Pietersen on national duties and Mahela & Ross Taylor not in great touch Delhi Daredevil’s batting strength looked slightly vulnerable.There is one more problem also and that is one cannot expect Sehwag to score on in every match as he has performed in last five matches.Morne Morkle, a spearhead of Delhi’s bowling attack and he has played in all DD matches and there for he may get himself injured and DD has to guard itself against that hazard and only way out seems to be to induct Andre Russell for 2-3 matches in DD side to provide rest to Morkle.
Virender Sehwag has to take bulk of the responsibility to make sure that Delhi reach in to the semis while being on the top of the table.Mahela,David Warner and Ross Taylor all are class players they can strike form any moment, both Mahela and Taylor have to be watchful at the beginning of their respective innings, I am sure they will strike a form and that will fill the void created by Pietersen departure.Delhi has to win at least 2 more matches to reach playoffs and 3-4 matches to finish at the top of the table when league matches are over.
Chennai Super Kings skipper M S Dhoni and Sehwag has always have some sort of rivalry for captaincy of Indian Cricket team.Chennai a two time defending champion is looking shaky and now they have to play really well to be in playoffs.In a nutshell it is a great chance for Sehwag to prove his ability to lead the Indian test side, remember India have lost two overseas test series by margin of 0-4 one against England and after that against Australia, there for Sehwag must grab this opportunity to prove himself as a skipper.
Moreover,Sehwag has led from the front and has scored as many as 30 plus score in ten matches he has played in this IPL-5, of course it include five consecutive half centuries.Sehwag has a great opportunity to grab test captaincy if he make Delhi Daredevils a winner of IPL-5.
